Northeast Maritime Institute and a group of leading experts in the maritime and oceans-related fields created the Center for Ocean Policy and Economics (COPE°) to tackle some of the ocean’s “wicked problems.” A culmination of years of research and conversations leaders in the oceans fields, COPE° is a facilitator for cogent maritime and ocean policy and economic development project initiatives linking academic, non-governmental, governmental, and corporate partners to create impactful solutions.

As a safe and transparent digital platform that promotes collaboration between a diverse group of individuals and organizations, COPE° invites participation by those interested in working to find solutions to different maritime and ocean related problems.
